Behind the health journal

Editorial Policy

These articles explain health topics for general education. They do not diagnose a reader or replace care from a clinician who knows their circumstances.

Who writes and checks the articles

Dr. Mayank Patel, MBBS writes and is responsible for the medical content. His credentials and registration details are on the About page. A physician-authored article is not described as independently medically reviewed. If a separate clinician reviews an article, that person and their role should be identified on that article.

How sources are chosen

We prioritize current clinical guidelines and public health guidance, systematic reviews, and primary medical research where appropriate. References appear with articles so readers can inspect the underlying evidence. Clinical experience helps frame practical questions, but it does not replace published evidence.

How information is checked

Before publication, medical claims, medicine advice, warning signs, and practical recommendations are checked against the cited sources. Articles distinguish general information from situations that call for individual assessment or urgent care. When evidence is uncertain or recommendations vary, the article should say so.

Updates and corrections

We revisit an article when important guidance changes or an error is brought to our attention. A substantive revision is labelled with an updated date; a new article shows its publication date. Minor spelling or layout edits do not imply that the medical information has been reviewed again. Please report a possible error to drmayankmd@protonmail.com. We will assess it and correct the article when warranted.

Independence and tools

Medical recommendations are not sold to sponsors or pharmaceutical companies. If a future article contains a relevant commercial relationship, it should be disclosed clearly. AI or other automated tools may assist with editing, formatting, or production; they are not treated as medical sources or independent reviewers. The named author remains responsible for the final medical content.
